Wellbeing initiative ‘Mind Your Business’ teams up with Danish Entrepreneurs

Durham University spinout Mind Your Business launches groundbreaking mental health entrepreneur support programme in Denmark

Durham University spinout Mind Your Business has signed a major new partnership with Danish Entrepreneurs to deliver a nationwide mental health and business development programme across Denmark.

Mind Your Business is a Durham-based enterprise that transforms business support by placing entrepreneurs’ mental health and self-worth at the centre of business development. Informed by cutting-edge research conducted by Durham University Business School, the programme helps founders navigate the psychological pressures of entrepreneurship and align business practices with personal wellbeing.

The two-year initiative, titled Healthy Capital, is supported by the Velliv Foundation and will see Mind Your Business’s award-winning research and training programmes implemented and delivered to over 2,000 entrepreneurs throughout the country.

Through the project, Mind Your Business will deliver a comprehensive certification programme for 14 Danish mentors, who will go on to support hundreds of self-employed individuals across the country. The collaboration will include workshops, bootcamps, digital resources, and in-person training events in both Denmark and the UK.

Major step forward

Professor Pablo Muñoz, Co-Founder of Mind Your Busines and Co-Director of the Durham Enterprise Centre and Professor of Entrepreneurship, commented:

“This partnership marks a major step forward in rethinking how we support entrepreneurs. By acknowledging that business development and mental health are deeply intertwined, Healthy Capital aims to build a new standard for entrepreneurial support that prioritises both personal and business development.”

The Durham spin-out is anchored in a shared commitment to destigmatise mental health among self-employed people, while equipping them with the tools to manage purpose, autonomy and achievement in the face of entrepreneurial pressures.

Chair of Danish Entrepreneurs, Peter Kofler, said: “We are excited to bring Mind Your Businessto Denmark. Entrepreneurs face tremendous stress and pressure, and this programme brings much-needed, research-based tools to help them thrive – not just commercially, but personally.”

The Mind Your Business programme previously received the 2023 Best Paper Award for Excellence in Research on Entrepreneurship by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in the United States.

The Durham spin-out has also been shortlisted for the 2025 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, in the Early Stage Stand Out Award in the North East, Yorkshire and The Humber category. Winners will be announced in November.
