For a life less retiring discover fulfilment, connection and community

The landscape for later living in London has shifted dramatically, with new options for those seeking to make the most of their next chapter – welcome to Riverstone Living

In the heart of London, a quiet revolution is underway. The later living market is experiencing a seismic shift, driven by a new generation of cultured and discerning over-65s who refuse to conform to outdated stereotypes.

Gone are the days when retirement meant retreating from the world. Today’s retirees are redefining their golden years, seeking out vibrant communities that offer both luxury and engagement. This shift is reshaping the market, with operators like Riverstone Living leading the charge.

Today’s over 65s demand more than just comfort – they seek fulfilment, connection, and community. Riverstone Living currently operates two communities in Kensington and Fulham where prices range from £810,000 to almost £7 million for the most prestigious penthouse, with two further communities under development at the Bishops Avenue and Chelsea.

These communities provide stunning, design-led, light-filled apartments, but that is just the beginning. Residents can enjoy a range of five-star hotel inspired amenities, from pools and spas to exercise suites, boutique cinemas, libraries and of course exceptional food and beverage offerings located on-site. The days of beige tray meals are over.

Wellbeing is central to the Riverstone offer, led by Dr Zoe Wyrko, a consultant geriatrician who uses her clinical expertise to optimise the health and wellbeing of residents and the Riverstone team.

Dr Wyrko comments: “This covers every aspect of our business, from how we acquire new developments through to the design and management of our residences. After years of picking up the pieces when it went wrong as a doctor, I now get to put things in place to create the right environment where older people can live independent, healthier lives for longer. It is a hugely rewarding process.”

Exceptional cultural experiences

Culture is also front and centre, with partnerships with The Royal Albert Hall, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The National Gallery. In May 2025, the team also announced a new partnership with Opera Holland Park.

Martin Earp, CEO of Riverstone Living, comments: “We believe that exceptional cultural experiences enrich lives and foster meaningful connections. Our latest partnership with Opera Holland Park reflects our longstanding commitment to bringing world-class arts to our communities, sharing the beauty of opera and its ability to captivate and connect people of all ages. Whether they are seasoned culture connoisseurs or discovering arts for the first time, our residents relish these experiences and shared moments with friends, family and neighbours. These range from TED-style talks to exclusive performances, private views and meet and greets.”

It’s clear that the landscape for later living in London has shifted dramatically, with new options for those seeking to make the most of their next chapter.
